This is where we teach young people skills they need to transform
themselves, others, and our global communities.
Azalea Care is an exciting new company established in June 2021, initially supporting young people who have a learning disability. Our flagship home is in Peterborough. We will work with the majority of Local Authorities and Clinical Commissioning Groups in England, Scotland and Wales. Within Azalea Care we provide tailored programmes, therapeutic environments and through our highly dedicated and experienced adults members we empower individuals to progress to achieve their ‘personal best’.
Our vision at Azalea care is to offer a stable and supportive home where every child is able to fulfil their potential regardless of barriers, they may face in order to achieve these. We believe that all progress should be recognised, and we celebrate their achievements regardless of how small whilst ensuring they receive the same opportunities to strive towards independence and achieve the best outcomes. All children have the right to be healthy, happy, safe, and secure, to feel loved, valued and respected.
We aim to provide a home which is driven by the needs and opinions of the young people, promoting a relaxed and homely environment which provides all young people opportunities, support and encouragement they need to make positive changes to their lives, whilst building upon a more positive future for themselves and achieving the best outcomes for their futures.
We believe that all children and young people should be offered the same choices, chances, and opportunities as other children and that we should work together with them, and others involved in their care to ensure we make changes to ensure they have the same opportunities.
Whilst providing opportunity for development we are encouraging the young people to develop the academic, practical, and social skills needed to thrive and develop from a young person into an adult.
In addition to personalised care the adults also value the importance of routines, rules and boundaries for all young people living with us.
There are rules in place in the home and these are explained to the young people when they move in. Adults’ consistency along with time, ensures the success of the home’s methods. This helps young people to take responsibility for their own behaviour and understand how their decisions, can have both negative and positive outco
mes.
Azalea care welcomes enquiries from local authorities within the UK needing to place a child with learning disabilities and associated
challenging behaviours between the ages of 8-18 years.

Wherever possible, the admission of a young person to the home will be done in consultation with the home manager. As much information as is possible will be sought at the point of referral to inform the assessment as to whether the referral is appropriate and as to whether Fletton Avenue and its adult team are able to meet the young person’s needs.
The information provided will assist the management of Fletton Avenue in their assessment as to whether the provision of a placement is viable and appropriate. In addition to the information provided, those with management responsibility will consider the registration criteria of the home, the age range of the young people accommodated and that of the young person being referred. They will also consider whether the home has sufficient staffing in terms of number and experience to manage the child and any potential impact that the admission may have on the existing group dynamics.
Azalea care offers bespoke care packages to suit the individual needs for each young person recognising that with differing needs in order to achieve and fulfil potential they will need differing approaches to support this. With a person-centred approach, we offer flexible care ranging from 1:1 support to 2:1 support where necessary and appropriate depending on specific needs, these will be reviewed to ensure where there has been progress reduction are made to support this where required. Within our home we offer spacious rooms which suit communal spaces not becoming overwhelming as well as smaller area’s that are snugger and offer comfort such as our additional ‘quiet lounge’ and sensory room where they can have down time and regulate accordingly without the business of the home. All young people have their own space within their bedroom which they can access throughout their waking day and are encouraged to personalise their own space to their own preferences and add personality and character.
